Monthsaries in the Philippines
Each couple collects memories. And those memories are made out of the happy or sad times they had together. Each day on the calendar are marked with special happenings. Well, girls usually do that because for them, everyday with their partners is Valentine’s Day. Except Valentine’s Day, Christmas, Birthdays, New Year and Anniversaries, one of the most common celebration a couple in the Philippines having is “Monthsaries”.
Monthsary is an important day, very much like an anniversary, but it is celebrated in terms of months, as opposed to anniversaries which are celebrated in terms of years. The only difference is that there are only 11 monthsaries for a certain event; the 12th would already be an anniversary. It seems also like the concept of “monthsary” was invented by Filipinos. Through monthsaries, couples can cherish their romantic moments together and celebrate them with dinner dates, sweet gifts, mushy lines, and beautiful kisses; without actually having to plod through a whole year. It’s romance in bite-size pieces. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, I believe that love naturally comes in bite-size pieces. It comes in short bursts of passion and heartache that consume the two parties in love. In celebrating monthsaries there were only three “perfect” keywords for these so GUYS, read carefully.
Mood
A busy person, in a bad mood or inappropriate condition; if one of these is your partner, better reschedule your date or plans specially if it would be your first monthsary. Remember: You should be enjoying the special day, and to make it special, it should not be forced to be in the right mood you are wishing to have. Well, honestly, there is still another day. You can catch on. Smile and reschedule a date if this scenario came.
Timing
Right timing is a must. No plan can be successful if an unplanned date or a surprise date happened. Yes, it’s still you and her but it was your partner that should be surprised, not you as a couple.
Honesty
Truthfulness to words and being brave enough to express it. Everyone loves transparency. An all couple in this world need it, specially Filipino couples that values “honesty” a lot.
As the postmodern world speeds up each hour however, the rest of the world might eventually see the merits of monthsaries. Think of how convenient it would be for people to love and fall out of love through monthsaries. People need double, triple jobs to get by, so the time for romance gets shorter and shorter every day. Monthsaries would become achievements worth celebrating universally. Pretty soon, most people would probably just count months and not years due to the impracticality of the latter! Hope not. Montsaries are made for the bonding, enjoyment, happiness. Couples, don’t count the numbers but go with the flow. Be happy when you feel it. Happy monthsaries for everyone there celebrating it!
Everyone should read this to enlighten them up with their relationships.
